How do I apply for Federal Grants? 

The Introduction to Grants.gov Video Series covers the complete Grants.gov application process, from registering and creating a Grants.gov account to searching for funding opportunities and filling out an application package.

The Learning Workspace Video Series for Organization Applicants provides step-by-step instructions for using Grants.gov’s new Workspace functionality, now available. Videos in this series outline key Workspace actions, such as creating a workspace, adding participants to a workspace, and completing forms within a workspace. 

  • Register with Dun & Bradstreet (DNB)
    • To register with DNB visit: http://www.dnb.com. You will require a Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) from the IRS and organization information
    • Through this process (which takes 3-5 business days), you will be issued a DUNS number
  • Register with the System for Award Management (SAM)
    • Watch this video for a full guide through the SAM process
    • Once you’ve been issued a DUNS number you, register with SAM at www.SAM.gov
    • You will need to provide your eBIZ  POC: Individual who oversees all activities for organization within grants.gov and grants permissions to Authorized Organization Representatives
    • You will also need to provide your MPIN: Marketing Partner Identification Number
    • This process takes 3-5 business days
